How do you format the sdcard?

Every time I try to format the microSDcard, it says “write protected”.
This hinders me from being able to freshly install a new OS.
Help needed!!!

Is it write protected? The program/OS is not lying.

If this is a standard microSD card and it’s not in the microSD to SD adapter, then you may have a bad card. If it’s in the adapter, make sure the write protect switch is off.
